Common NEET questions

NEET exam date kab hai / when is the NEET 2027 exam?

NEET UG is typically held on the first Sunday of May each year. The 2026 cycle was disrupted; Re-NEET UG 2026 was rescheduled to 21 June 2026. For the 2027 exam date, watch the official NTA NEET portal (neet.nta.nic.in) for the information bulletin — it is the only reliable source.

How many marks are there in NEET, and what is the marking scheme?

NEET UG is a 720-mark paper: 180 questions, each carrying +4 marks for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong one. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany + Zoology) each contribute 180 marks. Unattempted questions carry zero marks.

Is NCERT enough for NEET?

The NMC official syllabus is closely aligned with NCERT Class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry, and Biology textbooks. For the majority of questions, deep NCERT reading is the most productive strategy. Previous-year papers show that diagrams, exceptions, and NCERT-specific language are frequently tested — making NCERT the non-negotiable foundation.
